"THE HEART OF MYANMAR"
When you are in Yangon, you are certain to see the Sule Pagoda and will likely use it as a landmark since it is centrally located downtown. Like all pagodas in Myanmar, you must remove shoes and socks and proceed barefoot to go inside. Although not as extensive as the Swedagon Pagoda, this Pagoda is worth visiting. Foreigners will pay a small fee to enter. It would be helpful if you have read and researched beforehand to understand the symbolism to be found, or if you have a knowledgeable guide to show you around. Try engaging a guide from World Heritage Network under this website: whnmyanmar.blogspot.com or you can also email them for more enquiry: worldheritage101@yahoo.com Regardless, it is a peaceful respite and provides numerous photo opportunities. Definitely a must visit among all.

"Sule Pagoda, the one and only one”
To be honest, I think seeing this and maybe
Chaukhtatgyi Paya can conclude your Yangon trip. The other ones are somewhat
repetitive (Unless you're very spiritual/religious). This one felt the most
spiritual despite the large amount of tourists. Also we went after sundown so
it was quite breath taking. We went in a tour by World Heritage Network and it was so comfortable and enjoyable
having an understanding and patience guide along. If you are looking for one
like we did, you can email them: worldheritage101@yahoo.com and their website is nice to read too: www.whnmyanmar.blogspot.com Get more information and advice
from your guide about the best time to explore before visiting any place. I
would imagine this place to be super hot in the summer though so be sure to
plan appropriately by discussing it with your guide before embarking on the
tour. As for Sule Pagoda, I really liked how they gave you towels to clean your feet
and easy shower/toilet access. Be sure to dress modest!

“PAGODA AT THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY”
I was told by my guide from World Heritage Network that this
lovely and very old pagoda can be the perfect beginning to your walking tour of
the wonderful old buildings in the area. You can wander over to the Strand
Hotel or to the China Town area and just poke around these busy streets and
watch the hub bub of daily life. While it is not a "major" site it
puts the area into a visual and cultural reference that is wonderous. Have a
coffee at Traders Hotel and get fortified for your stroll. Traders offers a
nifty pocket map of the area that you can get at the business desk. If you want
a friendly guide who can explain the historical stories of this site and others
including transport to anywhere, try
emailing them: worldheritage101@yahoo.com The best tip from my guide is to
take night pictures of Sule Pagoda at the top floor restaurant at Sakura Hotel
nearby. This is the same picture Inside Guide travel book photographer took.
Have fun!
